«With each of their great "firsts", the explorers of the last century constantly pushed back the limits of the impossible. Today, the drive to make new discoveries must go on, with the aim of improving the quality of life on our planet.»

Solar Impulse at Air14 Airshow

Take a look at the Round-the-World Solar Airplane and listen to a lecture by Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg every Saturday and Sunday of the air show.

A large crowd is expected at the airfield, so we have set up a "Speedy Boarding" system for our Supporters to enable you to avoid any wait to enter our hangar (Download it here). You just have to register and print out the entry permit, and then present that at the entrance to the hangar so as to avoid having to queue!

Please note that this entry permit does not exempt you from paying the entry fee for the airshow.

Every weekend, Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg will give a talk from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. under the wings of the aircraft. Come along and share their passion!

Opening hours:
Weekend : 07:00- 19:00
Weekdays : 08:00 – 18:00

You may have noticed the vertical stabilizer shaking on the videos, a problem that our team is currently fixing.

Each test flight enables exploration of a different part of the flight envelope, with the ultimate objective of obtaining aircraft certification, thus opening the way for Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg’s first flights!

In order to fix this problem, the engineering team has decided to develop a teeter control mechanism for each propeller, which should reduce the vibrations by allowing the propellers to adjust to the airflow.

Each of these modifications made to Solar Impulse 2 demonstrates how difficult a project like this is, its innovative nature, and the pioneering spirit shown every day by the entire team.

«Just imagine your energy reserves increasing during flight! To make this dream a reality, we had to make maximum use of every single watt supplied by the sun, storing any surplus in our batteries.»
